We went camping for the first time in our new fifth wheel camper last weekend. We spent the weekend getting to know the layout of the campground, organizing the whole camper and digging the fire pit. We also found out that the kids love to wonder and check things out, but they are shy and won't say a word to anyone. We have taught them not to talk to strangers, but now all these strange people are talking to them and they don't want to talk back to them... oh what a tangled web we weave...
It took until late Sunday morning for Zoe to make a friend and that was just because I helped out by talking to the little girl first. Oh and the fact that Todd told them he would give them $5 to go make a friend and bring back a name and/or the friend. Cole will get there... maybe this weekend he will be more willing to talk to other boys. And maybe they won't be by our sides the whole time... Oh wishes, wishes.
The kids did go fishing, but didn't catch anything. People were fishing all weekend and no one caught a fish... maybe it was just too cold for them.
The kids loved that they got to stay up 'till about 9:30pm and then they were up at the crack of dawn (6:30am) ready to go... long days, short nights... I don't know how I did it when they were babies. And then they were sleeping in this morning and I had to wake both of them up for school.
I don't have any pictures to post from the weekend... sorry. I was too busy trying to figure out how everything worked... And I haven't figured out the showerhouse yet... I could only get cold water the one morning... and said forget that. They have to have some warm water as a man and his child were taking a shower right after that. Maybe I will figure out more this weekend.
Todd did decide that we need a golf cart... or should I say "he" needs a golf cart. I enjoyed walking all over the park all weekend... it gave me some exercise. However my legs have been a little sore since the drive home yesterday, but that too will pass.
And for everyone that knows Todd... he was bored out of his mind! He is so used to doing so much all the time... it is just the way he is... he really had a hard time sitting down and relaxing. I think it may take a few weeks to get used to idea of relaxing and maybe save him from getting a few more white hairs on his head. The next feat is to get him to take his phone off his side...
