I just thought I would add an entry about our weekend. We stayed home Friday night and enjoyed having nothing to do... Or I should say that Todd, Cole and Zoe enjoyed the night as I was cleaning my house so that I could relax the rest of the weekend (that is right... no purse party this Friday night! Yeah!).
Saturday morning started the routine of swimming and tumbling lessons again. Zoe couldn't wait for tumbling to start again and she loved that she could go swimming even though it was raining outside (it has not been a wonderful season of owning a pool as almost every time we went to go swimming... it would storm... lightning, thunder and a down pour of rain). Cole was also very excited to get back to swimming lessons. He is doing awesome and we can't believe how he just catches on to those techniques. We also had our other 2 butterflies emerge before we awoke. The kids just loved seeing all 5 of them flying around the butterfly garden. We decided that we would let them go in the afternoon as we didn't want to worry about trying to feed them. Cole wasn't really sure that he wanted to let them go, but we persuaded him that it was best. They thought it was neat how they flew out of the garden and some of them stayed close by for a little while. The instructions say that they will return to the "home" (where they were released) several times in their life span (2-3 wks) so the kids are constantly looking for them when we are outside. Saturday night we had a new sitter come to watch the kids... they love her and want her to come back again! We went out for supper to Beach's and then headed over the benefit for Madyson Jacobs. We are always looking at getting some pretty cool things in the silent and live auctions that they hold... and it is even cooler that with us getting something fun and cool for our family that we are helping another family in return! When you attend one of these benefits you really take a look at your life and appreciate what wonderful things you have. We ended up purchasing many cool ticket deals and 2 girl bikes. Yes I said 2 girl bikes... I know what you are thinking... they only have Zoe... Well we were looking at getting the kids bikes for Christmas... We purchased a barbie bike to give Zoe this year and then also a Hannah Montana bike for later... Zoe is just Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus crazy!!!
Today the kids, mom and myself headed to Rockford to go school clothes shopping. Everyone knows that when Kohl's is having a sale... I am there! We spent way too much time there, but all the clothes are bought and put away. My brother, Mike, met us there and I found out that I am not the cool mom because I don't buy the cool clothes... I didn't buy the right faded out jeans (I told him that Cole gets holes in them after a few months anyway... why get the faded ones that will probably get holes in a month?). But I did let him know that if he wanted to buy him jeans every couple of months that I would let him. I also found out that I am the cheap mom. Mike informed me that he would buy the Bears jersey for Cole that I would not because it cost too much. Then he proceeded to take Zoe to pick a jersey out also. Cole and Zoe were very thankful to Uncle Mike because otherwise they would come home with no jerseys... We went to Red Robin for lunch... we have never been there, so the kids loved the neverending french fries! We then headed over to Toys R Us for their big sale! I had to check out what good deals they had on bikes for Cole. Well it was 30%-50% off everything in the store... I did find a bike for Cole for Christmas, but they would not hold it until tomorrow... So we did what everyone would do... Mom took the kids off to look at other things and I purchased the bike (it was already assembled). I had to figure out a way to get it in the back of the vehicle and hide it so that Cole or Zoe wouldn't see it. I hid most of it with our large Kohl's purchases (thank goodness we bought so much!) and just prayed that the kids didn't look in the back. Everything went as planned... all 3 bikes are hidden and no one knows a thing! Cole was however a little upset when we didn't purchase a bike, but is waiting patiently for Santa to bring one.
