Roscoe playing in the yard

We are adjusting well to our new family member... We are also sleeping very well at night (fingers crossed)... We just need to stop him from barking.

Roscoe

It has been almost a year and half since Magic left us and we said we would never have another dog again, but it has happened... Roscoe joined us yesterday from his home in Chicago. He is a little over 7 weeks old... birthday 8/8/09. He is soooooo cute... he falls over when he walks, he steps on his ears and it looks like he hops when he runs. He also can hide in the grass if Todd hasn't mowed in a few days. We are adapting to a new puppy in the house since it has been 14 years since Magic was little. Todd was a little disappointed when the name "Flash" didn't win out, but I think Roscoe is just as cute. I will post more pics as he grows to his average weight of 40-80 pounds.... He sits on my arm right now, but I am sure that he will outgrow that sooner than later!

Updates

Well we have been keeping very busy lately...

1. Zoe has started dance class here in Lena. She decided January of this year that she really didn't have much interest in tumbling any longer. She has had 2 classes and is having fun. She also got to be in the Homecoming Parade on a float for dance class... she loved it!

2. Cole is still having some difficulty in reading, so we are working just as hard as we were last year... this takes up a lot of our time at night... along with homework. Otherwise is still loving his blended classroom and making new friends... he is such a social butterfly like his mother!

3. We thought we had 2 more weekends left for camping, but after looking at the forecast for this weekend... brrrrrrr. I think we will only have 1 left... keep your fingers crossed that it will be a little warmer.

4. Zoe is preparing for Cheer Camp next week... she cheers at the football game that Friday night. She is sooooooo excited!

5. Our new addition to the family... to come in the next post.

Hats On Day

Every year the school has "Hats On Day"... for a small donation the children can wear their hats all day. First of all, the kids think this is awesome! Secondly, the donations go to kids with cancer. What a wonderful way to raise money for a great cause and also have fun doing it!

School Update

I thought I should give a school update...

Cole is loving his new class. He is getting to make new friends and he loves that they are a year older. He is also doing great in his split classes... and adjusting well to having 3 teachers throughout the day.

Zoe loves school and says that she loves her teacher, Mrs. Heim. She comes home everyday to tell us what they did and what songs they sang. She is adjusting very well to being gone everyday... and all day.

So all is good here on the homefront.... And onto the next adventure... Fall Festival!

More Labor Day Pics

On Sunday we ventured to a Milwaukee Brewers game... This is the 2nd game this year and the kids seem to enjoy themselves. I have to apologize because I was going to take pics of the kids while watching the game and in front of the Miller Park sign, but as always... my camera was left in the car! So all I have is these 1st two pics of them in the car.

As usual, Todd is in the golf cart...

More playing... and swinging....

We also took Zoe's bigger bike this weekend so they could ride around together... especially since Zoe is now officially a "big girl" because she doesn't have training wheels anymore!

Labor Day Happenings

We didn't have a lot of plans for Labor Day, but camping... Cole was busy cleaning... Zoe was being a photographer...
Cole & Zoe decided to sit down and take a break for awhile...
Zoe is in full concentration of her writing...
Our cool fire... Grandma gave us some crystals to sprinkle on the fire and it turns some of the flames blue and green... the kids thought this was pretty neat!
More pics to come....
