Our Catch

The kids had a blast fishing over the weekend. Friday night was the busiest. Todd didn't rest between putting worms on the hook and taking fish off the hook. We caught 5 small fish and lost many worms to nibbles. The Barbie pole seems to be the "magic" pole this year... unsure as to why, but we catch 95% of our fish on it. Cole and Zoe also loved it because they could see the fish swimming around in the water... they also loved it when some of the bigger fish would jump out of the water about 10 feet from where we were fishing! The office did report that a fish was caught on 5/11/09 and released... the fish was 41" long. Sorry I am not the avid fisherman so I am not quite sure the kind of fish, but I believe it was a northern.

*There is a wonderful story floating around about me having some other woman take a fish off the hook because Todd ran Zoe to the restroom... not a story for now, but it is quite funny and I will tell the story if asked... anyone that knows me also knows that I am not one to touch a worm or a fish, but I do like to fish.

*We also know now not to ask Todd to tell a story around the campfire... as the story involved a Timber Ted shaking the camper... and then turning some little kids into fish bait... good thing Zoe knows that it is only a story or she wouldn't want to go camping anymore!

*Next time you see Todd... Ask him how fishing, his phone and the water all work? Maybe next time he will listen to me when I tell him to leave his phone in the camper!

I wonder what the rest of the summer will entail??? I will also have to post pics of our Golf Cart roller coaster hill that we visit multiple times when camping.

More Class Picnic pics

Zoe was also able to attend Cole's class picnic... she loved it because one of her classmates was there with her brother. It was a fun afternoon! And then we had to stop back at the school to pick up Cole's backup full of his school supplies from the year... I don't think he would have made it home without falling over.... it was heavy!!!

Cole's Class Picnic

Wow... I can't believe that the school year is over... Cole will be in 2nd grade... Where did the time go? Here are some pics from his class picnic.

Memorial Weekend

Here is our Memorial Weekend activities. We did go camping for our first long weekend! It was our 1st weekend with our golf cart and Todd enjoyed himself a little more than usual... we took many "field trips" as the kids called it... or maybe I should say that it seemed like we spent hours on the golf cart just driving around. The campground owners said that it is the busiest weekend of the season and every site was full.

Saturday: The kids kept asking to go swimming as there were a ton of kids in swimming, but we kept saying no... the weather was gorgeous, but the water was cold. I took the kids on the hayride that night and they had a blast hollering and saying hi to every person they saw.

Sunday: The kids kept asking again to go swimming... so we put on their swimsuits and let them go. They had to be cold, but didn't show it. They did emerge from the water about 2 hrs later. That night we went to the Golf Cart Drive-In movie to watch Bolt. This was really cool and the kids had a blast! However we didn't make it through the whole move as the kids were exhausted and falling asleep on our laps.

Monday: Our good friends, the Foley's, visited us... and, of course, we took another couple of trips on the golf cart to show them the campground. We left and headed to Platteville to eat at Steve's Pizza.... Awesome place!!! The food and the atmosphere were great... we will definitely be going back!!! We didn't arrive home until late, so it was very tough to get rolling for the next day back to the old routine.

Zoe's Preschool Graduation

Zoe has graduated from Preschool... watch out Kindergarten here she comes! She can't wait until August when she can go to school every day with Cole.

Silly Pic

What can I say? Cole was being a little goofy on the way to the zoo...

Field Trip to the Madison Zoo

Cole had his one and only 1st Grade field trip to the Madison Zoo. I took the day off to spend with him. We had a great time! He acted a little goofy at times, but what else would I expect from my child?! It was a gorgeous day... we couldn't have asked for a better day!
